Diagnostic solutions for screening & detection sector - Medical / Health Care
Real-time polymerase chain reaction (PCR, real-time PCR, or qPCR) enables the detection of bacteria or viruses on the molecular level, with higher degrees of accuracy than microscopy (peering through a microscope to see if certain microorganisms are present) and considerably faster than the days or weeks it takes to grow a culture to determine if someone has a disease. Such inaccuracies and delays can mean the difference between life and death.
Overview Applications & Industries Served
The unique, proprietary structure of our CoPrimers™ creates reactions that are far more specific than competing PCR technologies, to better identify and distinguish between viruses and other pathogens, and are sensitive enough to detect the presence of a single virus in a sample.
The technology also virtually eliminates “primer-dimers” which are the source for false positive test results. This is facilitated by our proprietary CoDx Design™ software. This software uses advanced mathematics developed by our founder, Dr. Brent Satterfield, to facilitate a dramatically shortened development cycle. It is able to quickly and accurately screen millions of possible regions within a genome or a specific gene to determine the ideal CoPrimer pair hybridization sites.
The CoPrimer technology was originally developed specifically to address the need for high-quality AND affordable infectious disease diagnostics in the under-served populations of the world. The reduction in primer-dimers combined with the abbreviated development time results in lower overhead costs while developing higher-quality tests, allowing our infectious disease products to be sold affordably all across the globe.
More information about available infectious disease diagnostics can be found under our Products tab.
