M5 - Bladder Volume Instrument for Bladder Volume and Bladder Wall Thickness Measurement - Medical / Health Care - Medical Monitoring
BladderView M5 is not just a bladder scanner. It provides an additional function to measure bladder wall thickness. Such integration makes it a powerful tool to improve clinical efficiency.
Why Bladder Wall Thickness is Necessary to Measure?
The bladder stores urine from the kidneys until it is expelled through the urethra. When bladder is filled with urine, the muscles in the bladder wall relax and expand to hold the urine. When urination is needed, the muscles in the bladder wall contract and flatten to push urine out of the urethra.
A thickened bladder wall can be a sign of a variety of conditions. It is often accompanied by other symptoms. For example the muscle walls of the bladder tend to get thicker when people have to try harder to urinate. When it is irritated or inflamed, the wall will also thicken. BWT is one of the important indicators to diagnose urological diseases.
