Accurate Tracking of Pressor and Fluid Changes - Case Study
A head-to-head comparison undertaken during liver transplant in a 66 year-old woman demonstrates that the Retia Argos Monitor accurately tracks pressor and fluid changes where the leading competitor monitor fails. As shown, the Retia Monitor accurately tracks the discordant changes between mean blood pressure and CO measurements that result from the use of vasopressor medications. The leading competitor CO monitor does not track this change accurately, reporting an increase in CO at a time when CO is actually decreasing. Similarly, the Argos Monitor accurately tracks concordant changes in these measurements that result from administration of fluids. The leading competitor CO monitor overestimates this change. Accurate tracking of both discordant and concordant changes in CO are essential for proper resuscitation of critically ill patients.
