Pressure Ulcer - Case study

Patient History

Patient presented with a history of hypertension, hyperlipidemia, peripheral arterial disease, obesity, arterial fibrillation, and transient ischemic attack. Patient had total knee replacement surgery and developed a complication due to improper off-loading, developing pressure ulcer on the right heel. Patient was treated with collagen products and wet to dry dressings prior to Restrata.

Primary Diagnosis

Pressure ulcer of right heel, stage 3

Treatment & Outcome

Restrata treatment was initiated. After application of Restrata, the wound was covered with primary dressing of Mepitel AG and 4x4s. Patient healed with two applications of Restrata in three weeks.
