Gastrointestinal
The gastrointestinal (GI) segment is a growing specialty market with significant unmet needs, many of which are chronic and are often untreated. For over 30 years, Salix has licensed, developed and marketed innovative products to treat GI and hepatologic conditions, including hepatic encephalopathy, irritable bowel syndrome with diarrhea, traveler’s diarrhea, opioid-induced constipation and ulcerative colitis, among many others.
Dermatology Products/Aesthetics Devices
Through new product development, growth of established brands and strategic acquisitions, the Ortho Dermatologics business has become one of the largest prescription dermatology companies in the world and a leader in the U.S. medical dermatology market. Its dermatology products treat a range of conditions, including actinic keratosis, acne, atopic dermatitis, psoriasis, cold sores, athlete’s foot, nail fungus and other dermatoses. The Solta Medical aesthetics business offers a broad selection of aesthetic medical devices that address a variety of conditions, including skin tightening, skin resurfacing, pigmentation conditions, body sculpting and acne.

OraPharma develops and commercializes products that help improve and maintain oral health, and address several areas, including adult periodontitis and mouth dryness, among others.

Aldara (imiquimod) Cream, 5%
ALDARA Cream is indicated for the topical treatment of: Clinically typical, nonhyperkeratotic, nonhypertrophic actinic keratoses (AKs) on the face or scalp in immunocompetent adults. (1.1). Biopsy-confirmed, primary superficial basal cell carcinoma (sBCC) in immunocompetent adults; maximum tumor diameter of 2.0 cm on trunk, neck, or extremities (excluding hands and feet), only when surgical methods are medically less appropriate and patient follow-up can be reasonably assured. (1.2). External genital and perianal warts/condyloma acuminata in patients 12 years or older. (1.3). Limitations of Use: Efficacy was not demonstrated for molluscum contagiosum in children aged 2–12.
