Cellbox - Transportable CO2 Incubator

Cellbox Ground 2.0 & Cellbox Flight 2.0: To ensure the ideal conditions for any transport, we provide two device types – the Cellbox Ground 2.0 and the Cellbox Flight 2.0. These two boxes are near-identical, except for the carbon dioxide source and conditioning system – the Ground uses disposable CO2 cartridges and the Flight dry-ice. Due to international flight regulations, open gas canisters are not permitted on an aircraft. That’s why we had to find a solution for providing carbon dioxide without actually using a gas cartridge. Dry-ice naturally sublimates into gaseous CO2 – that in turn sustains the passengers in the Cellbox. The source of CO2 does however impact the operation period of the incubator. The Cellbox Ground 2.0 can be operated for more than 72 hours (at 5% CO2), while the Cellbox Flight 2.0 would need a dry ice refill after 32 hours.

Transportable CO2 Incubators

Transportable CO2 Incubators

The Cellbox Flight CDI is the only shipping incubator that has been awarded an international flight allowance. Incubation temperatures can be preset between 28°C and 38°C depending on the ambient temperature and a suitable CO2 concentration can be selected between 0% and 18%. TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS: The Cellbox Flight CDI, is the first cell shipping CO2 incubator that has been awarded an international flight allowance. It provides lab-like incubation conditions during transport – by road, rail, sea and even air. Our Cellbox is completely self-sufficient, because of an integrated rechargeable lithium-ion battery pack (4 x 99,6 Wh) and a CO2 conditioning system that relies on dry-ice sublimation. The device is simple to use and the internal parameters can be programmed by the user. At standard incubation conditions of 37°C and 5% CO2, we guarantee an operating time of 24 hours at an ambient temperature of 23°C.
