The entire chemical, petrochemical and pharmaceutical industry produces huge amounts of liquid residues that can be thermally recycled. In response to the principle of zero waste emission, these are increasingly being converted into thermal energy directly where they are produced. This is usually done in adiabatic combustion chamber systems with subsequent waste heat utilisation. Industrial parks also have special hazardous waste incineration plants, operated by globally active waste management companies, in which both liquid and solid waste is incinerated.
