Human NPCs
Cytes - Non-Parenchymal Cells Mix
Hepatic non-parenchymal cells (NPCs) represent about 30% of the liver and are specialized cells which interact with hepatocytes for several functions. For this reason, liver co-cultures may increase the sensitivity of liver models for ADME/Tox-related research by recapitulating the complexity of a whole liver. "Mix NPCs" provides a mix of different types of liver cells, including Kupffer cells, liver endothelial cells and Stellate cells.
Cytes - Primary Human Liver Endothelial & Sinusoidal Endothelial Cells
The liver contains two distinct endothelial cell types: vascular (LEC) and sinusoidal (LSEC). Liver Endothelial Cells (LEC) are highly specialized endothelial cells representing the interface between blood cells and the rest of liver cells. In fact, they represent the primary permeable barrier in blood vessels. They also have the highest endocytosis capacity of human cells.
Cytes - Primary Human Hepatic Stellate Cells
Hepatic stellate cells (HSC) are also known as perisinusoidal cells and they are located in the space of disses. These cells are the major cell type involved in liver fibrosis in response to liver injury and they play a key role in the homeostasis of liver extracellular matrix, repair, regeneration and fibrosis, and control retinol metabolism, storage and release.
