Mechanical ventilation manufacturing began in California in the 1950s by small ventilator companies based in San Diego, Los Angeles, Riverside and Palm Springs. Through the years, as these companies became successful, they were consumed by larger companies with diversified interests.

In March of 2000, several respiratory therapists and engineers broke away from these larger companies to form their own ventilator company . . . one that would incorporate their experience and passion in the art of mechanical ventilation into the global center of the industry. eVent Medical’s founders understood that success is derived from listening to the customer and tending to their needs.
