3M Clean-Trace Surface Protein (Allergen) Test Swab (formerly Biotrace Aller-tect) is a simple, fast and reliable method to check for allergens on processing surfaces and quickly identifies the risk of risky contamination. This swab detects a minimum of 3 ?g of protein on surfaces and allows contamination to be monitored even in hard-to-reach areas in just 1to 5 minutes. The change in the color of the buffer indicates the presence of detectable levels of proteins and is proportional to their concentration (semi-quantitative). The product has been validated on a wide range of allergenic proteins, including eggs, milk, gluten, soy, peanuts, almonds and buckwheat. No instrumentation is required to interpret the sample results. This product can be easily integrated into company HACCP programs to monitor the effectiveness of cleaning, in addition, its ease of use.

SPECIALfinder SpyX 1000 ppm is designed for the process control using Real-Time PCR or immunochemical approach or for the quantitative analysis of different allergens in food samples using Real-Time PCR approach. This reference material contains the target allergen in a proven homogenous concentration of 1000 ppm dispersed in a corn flour matrix.

SPECIALfinder Assays are Real-Time PCR kits developed and validated according to UNI-EN 15634-1: 2009 guidelines detecting allergens DNA with high specificity and sensitivity. Absence of cross-reactivity was tested towards a large number of food ingredients to avoid false positive. Combining SPECIALfinder Assays to ION-FORCE DNA Extractor – the DNA extraction kit developed by Generon to provide PCR inhibitors-free DNA from large and representative samples either vegetable or animal – it’s possible to perform allergens detection on any kind of matrix: ingredients, semi-finished and finished products, environmental swabs. All Kits are compatible with the majority of the Real-Time PCR instruments.
