ITM Isotope Technologies Munich SE services

Headquartered on the premises of the Technical University Munich (TUM), ITM operates GMP laboratories for the manufacturing of a new generation of radiopharmaceuticals. The laboratory area spreads currently more than 900 m² (additional 4600 m² in the near future) with clean rooms and dedicated hot cells for GMP radiolabeling up to class A. An in-house control area and a sophisticated radiation protection system are also part of this high-tech lab.

Targeted Radionuclide Therapy (TRT) or Peptide Receptor Radionuclide Therapy (PRRT) is a medical specialty using very small amounts of radioactive compounds, called radiopharmaceuticals, to diagnose and treat various diseases, like cancer. Once injected into the patient, the radiopharmaceutical finds its way to the tumor through the bloodstream and binds to the tumor specific receptor according to a lock and key principle.
