About Us
In 1952, Taro Tsuchiya, who was to later become the JMS founder, established Hiroshima Blood Bank together with his father, Gouji Tsuchiya.
Being a medical doctor, Taro Tsuchiya was conducting research on preventing the side effects of blood transfusion, such as fever, when he realized that the use of disposable* medical devices made of plastic were already becoming common in the United States, in contrast to Japan's repeated use of sterilized equipment made of glass and rubber in those days.
Under the slogan of 'For clinicians trying to provide better medical care and for patients who trust us with their life', he established JMS Co., Ltd. (originally founded as Japan Medical Supply Co., Ltd.) on June 12, 1965 for manufacturing and marketing disposable medical devices.
The passion of the founder remains alive today in the mind of all our employees as the company's founding spirit, 'The Bridge to Good Health Care'. *In the field of medical care, the term 'disposable' generally refers to 'pre-sterilized and immediately usable items that are not reused'.
