The SST-mAX incorporates PANalytical"s groundbreaking ZETA Technology. This provides exceptional system performance by eliminating classical tungsten cathode evaporation, the major contributor to instrument drift. Conventional X-ray tubes suffer tungsten evaporation from the cathode filament, causing deposits on the inside of the tube"s beryllium window. Instrument drift, decreased intensities and longer counting times are the result, particularly for light-element analysis. The ZETA Technology in SST-mAX eliminates these effects and ensures that initial performance is maintained throughout an XRF spectrometer"s lifetime.

The SST-mAX50 is the most advanced XRF tube in the world. Its novel features are a 50 µm beryllium window in combination with PANalytical’s revolutionary CHI-BLUE coating. The ultrathin window gives unprecedented light-element performance, and the CHI-BLUE coating provides effective corrosion resistance and long-term vacuum tightness to the ultrathin window. In addition, the SST-mAX50 incorporates PANalytical"s groundbreaking ZETA Technology. This provides exceptional system performance by eliminating classical tungsten cathode evaporation, the major contributor to instrument drift. The Empyrean Tube is the successor to PANalytical’s well-proven X’Pert Tube. Building on the company’s 25 year track record in ceramic tube technology, the Empyrean tube has been designed and optimized for PANalytical`s Empyrean diffractometers. In addition, this state-of-the-art diffraction tube is fully compatible with all PANalytical’s existing X`Pert PRO, X’Pert Powder, CubiX PRO, CubiX FAST, CubiX³ and X`Pert³ diffractometer systems.
