Martin Microscope Company products

This is a steel jig we make for cross-sectioning plastic films for examination under a microscope.  Pull the two halves apart, put in a piece of plastic film with a bit sticking out, squeeze the two halves back together and tighten down the thumbscrews, then slice off the film with a razor blade to get a good, even, cut.  Then, put the whole jig under the microscope for examination of the cross section.
