Our History
Thirty Years In the Making
Thirty years ago, in 1991, Gyu Jo Yeom, an engineer in molecular technology, began building the foundation for what would eventually become MedSchenker® by becoming an original equipment manufacturer for Samsung Electronics.
In 2009, his son Sean Yeom took over the day-to-day control of the company and began engineering disinfection foggers and water filtration products. While on a business trip in Malaysia in 2017, he met Ji Hyun Shin, a Korean medical equipment engineer. Ji Hyun was developing in-vitro diagnostic products and had found some success internationally.
Looking to expand once again, in 2019, Sean partnered with Ji Hyun and they began developing a better transport medium and swab. At the time the industry was very small, but they knew they could bring to market better products than what had been currently available.
Initially, they were targeting influenza A and B, but their focus shifted when the COVID-19 pandemic hit. Within just two months, and after investing in their manufacturing capabilities, they started to deliver products to medical professionals in desperate need of them. Since then they have introduced a number of other innovative products and have many more in the pipeline.
