Aspergillus Tests
MiraVista Veterinary Diagnostics offers both antigen and antibody tests for Aspergillus. Aspergillus spores are ubiquitous in the environment and may cause sinonasal, pulmonary, or disseminated disease in animals. The antigen test is used most often for diagnosing or monitoring systemic aspergillosis, an uncommon disease that is over-represented in the German Shepherd breed. The antibody test is most useful for assisting with the diagnosis of sinonasal aspergillosis in dogs and cats.

Aspergillus Antigen EIA
Clinical Significance: The Aspergillus Antigen EIA test aids in the diagnosis of systemic aspergillosis in animals. This test has low sensitivity in dogs with sino-nasal aspergillosis; therefore, the test is not recommended for screening in those ...
-
Aspergillus Antibody Immunodiffusion
Clinical Significance: The Aspergillus Antibody Immunodiffusion test is used for the in vitro determination of precipitating antibodies to Aspergillus spp. The test is most useful in assisting with the diagnosis of sino-nasal aspergillosis in ...

Beta-D-Glucan Antigen Test
Clinical Significance: The Fungitell® assay measures the presence of (1→3)-β-D-Glucan in serum and CSF. Serum is the only specimen type cleared by the FDA for this assay. Performance characteristics of CSF have been validated by MiraVista ...

Blastomyces Tests
Blastomycosis is a systemic mycotic infection caused by the dimorphic fungi Blastomyces spp, and it is common in certain parts of the eastern United States and Canada. MiraVista Veterinary Diagnostics developed the first antigen test for blastomycosis and has actively participated in research and publications to improve Blastomyces diagnostics. In addition to the antigen test, a canine IgG antibody EIA test is also now available.

Blastomyces Antigen EIA
Clinical Significance: The MVista® Blastomyces Quantitative Antigen EIA aids in the diagnosis of blastomycosis. Monitoring the Blastomyces antigen also assists in therapeutic decision-making and identification of ...

Blastomyces Canine Antibody IgG EIA
Clinical Significance: IgG antibodies to Blastomyces antigen appear to be associated with active infection, especially in dogs with moderate to high positive (20 EU or greater) results. Antibodies may also be detected in a small percentage of healthy dogs as a result of sub-clinical infection within the last 2 years; however, results of preliminary studies show high specificity of the assay (>90%) in healthy animals from Blastomyces-endemic areas. IgG ...
