A Cam Follower is a specialized type of roller designed to follow the curvature of a cam or track and to translate or communicate machine motion or load. By rolling, as opposed to sliding, Cam Followers provide less wear and tear on equipment components than other types of followers. PCI Cam Follower assemblies are manufactured with a full complement of needle roller bearings and are designed to offer reliability under heavy radial loads. These followers feature a case-hardened roller body with a thick outer section to endure shock loads. Options include stud type or yoke type in plain or crowned roller body profiles with black oxide coating. Stud types offer efficient cantilever mounting with either a screwdriver slot or hex socket for installation torque. Yoke types allow for higher load capacity with a double shear mounting arrangement. Both plain and crowned profiles are available to cater to specific load and alignment requirements.
