About Us
The healthcare industry is undergoing fundamental changes, and a strong need exists for novel medical devices that are easier to use, safer, more effective, and less costly. Physicians are often aware of the need for new devices to improve their procedures, and often invent novel product concepts.
There is a strong need for a lean company that can quickly and cost-effectively navigate all of the challenges to bring physicians’ novel medical devices to market. Proa believes that its expertise in identifying and obtaining rights to university-based medical device inventions, combined with its efficient product development and business acumen, makes it a unique investment opportunity in a growing industry.
Proa Medical is commercializing a portfolio of innovative medical products. The company has a patented product on the market and several additional products in its pipeline. Most of the technologies were exclusively licensed from the Alfred E. Mann Institute for Biomedical Engineering at the University of Southern California (AMI-USC).
Proa Medical has negotiated a broad license to several medical device inventions from the Alfred E. Mann Institute for Biomedical Engineering at the University of Southern California (AMI-USC), with the option, at no additional cost to Proa Medical, to fully acquire the intellectual property free and clear of any obligations to AMI-USC. Proa Medical has licensed a portfolio of eleven inventions in several medical fields from AMI-USC, including but not limited to the OB/GYN field. Proa has filed patent applications on three additional OB/GYN technologies invented by Proa Medical, and is assessing additional medical device concepts from outside of AMI-USC.
