PTF Häusser GmbH
PTF Häusser GmbH was established in the year 2000 in Germany by three graduate engineers, Tobias Häusser, Peter Rasch and Reinhold Rau. Their goal was to improve the familiar disadvantages of waste wrapping systems which existed up to that time (e.g. slow wrapping, high film consumption, susceptibility to malfunction). Bales had previously been wrapped in a two-stage system which was obviously slower and more cumbersome than a single-stage system.

About Us
Robust, solid and flexible in use with extremely easy handling and maintenance characteristics. These are the features that distinguish waste bale wrapping machines from PTF Häusser GmbH, one of the world's leading manufacturers.
In addition, poor results in terms of sealing and uniform wrapping were achieved during two-stage wrapping, due to the absence of rotation. PTF Häusser GmbH launched the single-stage Rotowrap system on the market to address existing customer demands for a solution which could wrap a bale quickly and with minimum film consumption while achieving effective sealing. The system was developed to ensure that the machines could withstand the extreme conditions in the recycling industry and downtimes would be eliminated. PTF Häusser GmbH then unveiled the Rotowrap 30 and Rotowrap TT in the year 2000. The first system was installed the same year in Cologne, Germany, followed by shipping of a second system to Narvik in Norway. This plant is still producing reliably today, which demonstrates that concentrating exclusively on wrapping machines for the recycling industry and our aspiration to achieve the best solution to meet the special requirements of this sector was already proven back then. Building on the success of the Rotowrap 30 concept, work continued uninterrupted on the improvement of this solution and other Rotowrap machines. A need already arose in 2001 to move to a larger production location in Borgholzhausen, due to the increase in demand for improved waste bale wrapping solutions. The Rotowrap 40 was successfully launched in 2004. Since 2008, we have provided a two-stage system with the Rotowrap WR4+4. This is an improvement over the conventional two-stage system, as both stages wrap two bales simultaneously. Our latest innovation is the Rotowrap 50 which, with its 4 prestretchers, can wrap a bale 50 % quicker than the Rotowrap 40. Our different wrapping machine models and additional systems are individually created to customer specifications in our engineering design department. This enormous degree of flexibility is enabled through the internal production of the machines by our skilled personnel in a facility which now covers over 1600 m². With our different machine types and individual consulting, we are sure to find the right machine for your needs.

Solutions for transportation and storage problems:
Wrapping bales – a clean solution!
Bales of waste protected with wrapping film can be stored outdoors without loosing their energy value. Unpleasant odours, dust development and silage effluent are all avoided. The bales can be transported without any disintegration losses and completely free of odour. This creates a tradable commodity which can be temporarily stored outdoors in an inexpensive manner until thermal utilisation. Transportation, storage and recycling are extremely environmentally friendly. Waste generated during the summer can be wrapped and then exported or stored without difficulty until the winter months. Storage means that waste disposal can be realised in a considerably more efficient manner, as the increased demand for district heating from waste incineration plants in winter reduce the cost of disposal.
Bale Wrapping Technology
In order to wrap a square bale or a cube, it needs to rotate the bale via two axis.
Different to other wrapping systems the ROTOWRAP machines do these two rotations at the same time, which increases the throughput vastly.
The rotation of the bale on the oscillation rollers is smooth, exact and controlled and even with loose or weak bales it is possible without loss.
The wrapping machine is placed in line directly behind the baler. When the bale is pushed by the baler via a ramp forward far enough, the bale is recognizes and the automatic cycle begins.
The transportsystem brings the bale into the wrapperunit between the oscillation rollers which lift the bale into the wrapping position and wrapping starts. The rollers rotates the bale around its horizontal axle and the wrapping arm with 2 film rolls of 750 mm wide film is rotating around the bale.
These rotations are exact and relative to each other to get the correct amount of film on every place of the bale. According to special circumstances or customer needs, there are plenty of variations to adjust overlap and number of layers to bring as much film as necessary and as less film as possible to the bale.
When the wrapping is finished the film is cut by a cut & tie system prepared for the next bale.
This system saves film. The next step brings the machine back to the conveyor system which transports the bale to the collecting conveyor.
From here it can be taken away by forklift.
750mm Stretch Film
ROTOWRAP machines are working with 750mm wide film instead of 500mm film.
There are plenty advantages on the wider film:
- tightly closed bales with more overlap
- wrapping faster
- higher Availability of the machine
- less energy consumption
- less wear and tear
- longer lifespan
The more overlap the more safety you get against liquid or gas going in or out of the wrapped bale. With 750mm wide film you have up to 50% more overlap. With ROTOWRAP bales are overall more closely and tightly wrapped, especially at the corners. The combination of wide film with the rotation of the bale brings a very fast and efficient wrapping process. ROTOWRAP machines have less film breakage with the 750mm wider film which is stronger than the 500mm film, as well as from more film per roll.
The Proper Solution of Your Storage and Transport Problems
Environmentally friendly
Wrapped waste bales are becoming more common in our industry, because there are many advantages. The good protection offered by the stretch film conserves energy and allows the bales to be stored outdoors. Rotowrap bales are tightly wrapped so littering, odor problems and vermin are dramatically reduced.
Transportation of waste bales is no problem. Tightly wrapped, square bales do not require much space, they do not smell, nor litter and leak.
Wrapping waste bales is a cost effective method to store waste until further use for example as an energy resource in incineration.
The wrapped bales can be utilized at the most optimal times It is environmentally friendly: storage and handling of wrapped bales can be done close to residential areas so transport and storage costs can be reduced. Automatic line saves labor costs and increases production capacity up to 60 bales per hour.
Enables the handling of huge capacities. The packing material is an environmentally friendly 750mm wide polyethylene stretch film, which can be recycled or used as an energy source. The bales are easy to open automatically by using the PTF Haeusser bale opener.
