Our Success Story
Since its foundation in 1871, the Putsch® Group can look back on a long and successful history. In the course of our almost 150-year history, the Putsch® company has developed itself through continuity, creativity, consistent quality, service and experience into a successful technology Group of companies. The manufacturing areas were continuously expanded and new markets were developed.
2021: 150th Anniversary of Putsch®
Putsch® celebrates its 150th anniversary with a firework of special edition models and the anniversary logo
2019: Core refurbishment of Putsch® Meniconi S.p.A. facility
We took the necessary action to open a new administration and engineering office. In the new showroom we can demonstrate our latest innovations.
2018: Complete redesign of the Putsch® beet elevator
After many years of discussions, a completely redesigned beet elevator was developed and installed to deal with the harsh and long North American beet campaigns. The modern design is very low in maintenance and boosts efficiency.
2018: Complete redesign of the smallest Putsch® slicer model
The smallest of the Putsch® slicer models, SM 1100 was redesigned to use modern technology. It is a great fit for slicing red beets, potatoes, Jerusalem artichokes and other roots.
2018: Development of a new Segment Filter
The new Segment Filter combines the advantages of a candle and frame filter. The new flat filter segment design increases the filtration area, and new segment design allows for turbidity control and easy handling. The Putsch® segment filter comes with a proven two-step back flushing system for efficient cloth cleaning and high mud density.
2017: Opening of the new Putsch® Technology Center (PTZW) based in Wuppertal, Germany
The first construction phase of our technology center in Wuppertal has been completed. A large part of our production team has moved their workstations to the new manufacturing facility which is approximately 7,300 square meters. The technical improvement throughout the new modern facility includes new production equipment and machines as well as flexible crane systems that enable us to continuously increase productivity. This allows us to be even more suited to meet our customers’ demands, to be more efficient, effective and with the highest quality.
2016: Development of the new Stord twin screw press
Putsch® together with Stord redesigned a new twin screw press, model 3500HP. This high-performance twin screw press sets new standards in the industry and the pressing capacity is considerably increased. The Stord-3500HP is successfully installed in the sugar factory Sillery, F.
2015: Introduction of the new Putsch® Smart Slicing Concept
With the development of the Putsch® Smart Slicing Philosophy Putsch® introduced the Industry 4.0 concept to the sugar industry. Linked with the Putsch® Integrated Automation (PIA) this system allows a safe data exchange which ensures a reliable production process. This results in numerous production improvements over the entire beet campaign.
2015: Putsch® Group runs SAP
With the introduction of the SAP system Putsch® is able to provide fully integrated and innovative process solutions.
2014: New Putsch® Membrane Filter Presses (PKF), Flex series
Based on a flexible and modular system Putsch® offers PKF sizes from 50 up to 250 square meters.
2013: New factory addition at Putsch® & Company, Inc., NC
This reconstruction includes new engineering facility and an electrical workshop.
2013: Acquisition of Stord International AS by the Putsch® Group
Putsch® takes over the well-known manufacturer and inventor of the twin screw presses. The proven twin screw presses are successfully in service worldwide not only in the sugar industry but also in the fish industry and other processing industries.
2013: G&W GmbH renamed to Putsch® CST GmbH
After the successful integration of G&W GmbH in Zeven, Germany into the Putsch® Group, the company was renamed to Putsch® CST GmbH. Putsch® CST stands for Cleaning & Separation Technologies and it underlines the international alignment of the company.
2012: Formation of OOO Putsch® in Moscow, Russia
Putsch® established the company with its main office in Moscow and a new service center based in Voronezh in order to serve the Russian market and neighboring Russian speaking countries.
2011: New horizontal panel saw at Putsch® Meniconi S.p.A.
Putsch® Meniconi developed a new horizontal plate saw, named Vantage to complete the production program.
2010: Putsch® Integrated Automation (PIA) first automated control system in sugar industry
The first Putsch Integrated Automation (PIA) system was very successfully installed in the sugar refinery in Brindisi, Italy to fully automate all processes from raw sugar to final sugar.
2007: Development of Putsch® Root Washer System for horseradish, ginger and other roots
The Putsch® horseradish root washer is a semi-automatic machine designed to load, wash and discharge roots. Compared to previous systems the washing effect is greatly increased while wash water consumption and manual intervention are decreased.
2005: Establishment of Filtration & Separation Technology (FST) at Putsch® Asheville, NC
Putsch® FST in Asheville, NC was established to promote the sales of well proven filtration technology and product solutions into new markets.
2004: Factory extension of Putsch® & Company, Inc., NC
A new and modern assembly bay was built to increase production capacity.
2003: Acquisition of the paddle washer product range from BMA AG
2003: Disinvestment of the company Hamco Filter Technologies in Vienna, Austria
2001: Purchase of the food program from Bamann & Schreiber (B&S) and Bütfering company
Through this purchase, the Putsch® Group also acquired the formerly well-known brands Köllmann & Gruhn, Oppermann & Deichmann and Technologik.
2001: Mr. C. C. Radinger, Graduate Engineer, becomes the company’s director
Upon the death of Mr. H. C. Radinger consequently Mr. C. C. Radinger took over the company. Under his direction, numerous products were improved and many new machines and important process solutions were developed.
2000: Purchase of the company G&W GmbH in Zeven
Through the acquisition of the company G&W in Zeven, Putsch® expanded its expertise and product range in the area of sugar beet intake, transport and preparation which is applicable also for other field crops.
2000: The first beet mud filtration with a Putsch® filter press
A Putsch® PKF filter press was successfully applied for the first time for the dewatering of beet mud in the sugar factory in Acor / Spain.
1992: Development of the first self-cleaning Putsch® screen filter, the Sibomat for the sugar industry
1992: Mr. C. C. Radinger, Graduate Engineer, becomes part of the Putsch® management team
1988: Acquisition of the company Galvanometall Steding GmbH in Lüdenscheid, Germany
1987: Further development and manufacture of modern drum slicing machines for the sugar industry
With the development and launch of modern drum slicing machines of the TSM series in the sugar industry, Putsch® has strengthen its position as a quality and market leader.
1984: In-house production of manufacture woven filter cartridges
The production of wound filter elements allowed Putsch® a high degree of flexibility of the materials and winding matrix used and thus a better adaptation to the different requirements of customers.
1982: Development and manufacture of the first modern Putsch® Membrane Filter Press
This filter press had a filter surface of 42 m² and was equipped with alternating membrane and pressure plates. This new membrane filter press development was successfully installed and commissioned in the sugar factory in Gross-Munzel, Germany.
1983: Renaming of the company Nerva S. A. to Putsch® Nerva S.A.
The renaming of the company underlines that Nerva S.A. is part of the Putsch® Group of companies.
1981: New development of the Putsch® double drum slicing machine
The first drum slicing machines were based on the design from 1885 with difficult handling and low beet processing capacity. The completely new development of the drum slicing machines from Putsch® eliminated many former disadvantages and created a robust and effective system for the production of defined cossettes out of sugar beets. The first machines from this new construction design were installed in 1981 in the sugar factory in Zevenbergen, NL and known as the double drum slicing machine DTS 1800.
1978: Development of the Putsch® panel saw for fire-rated and bulletproof glass, marble and stone
The precision panel saw SVP 1080 for cutting of laminated glass, marble and stone was developed in 1978/1979 by Putsch® Meniconi and has been on the market since 1980.
1974: Formation of the company Galvanometall Steding GmbH in Lüdenscheid, Germany with equal partnership between Putsch® and Steding
1973: Establishment of Putsch® & Company, Inc. in Asheville, NC
Putsch® & Company, Inc. started production in 1975 and since then has opened up the North American market.
1972: Acquisition of the majority shares in Hamco company, Austria
The close cooperation of Putsch® with the trading company Hamco in Austria already dates back to the 50s. Hamco was in charge for the sugar and glass industry and covered opened the Eastern European market.
1970: Manufacture and sales of leather and rubber blades at Putsch® Meniconi S.p.A.
Putsch® Meniconi expands its business activities into the leather and rubber industry with specially manufactured cutting tools.
1969: Establishment of the department for filtration technology
In order to use the sound knowledge of filtration of juices in the sugar industry, in 1969 Putsch® established a new department to focus in other filtration markets.
1964: Development of the first vertical panel saws by Putsch® Meniconi S.p.A.
In the years 1964 and 1965, the first prototypes of the Putsch® panel saws at Putsch® Meniconi S.p.A. have been developed and brought to market. From1966 first sold in Italy and later successfully worldwide.
1956: Putsch® becomes majority shareholder of Meniconi S.p.A. in Poggibonsi, Italy
Around 160 employees work at this site, which now operates under the name Putsch® Meniconi.
1955: Establishment of Nerva S. A. in Valladolid, Spain
In 1955 the Spanish branch of Putsch® was established to exclusively serve the Spanish market in the sugar and glass industry.
1953: Integration of the Fontaine into the Putsch® Group
With the acquisition of the Aachen-based company Fontaine, Putsch®’s product portfolio was expanded to include mechanically stamped and electro-formed centrifugal screens for all brands and perforated plates for the sugar industry.
1947: Putsch® makes the first forms for glass machines
1944: Manufacture of the first mechanical device for molds used in the glass industry
1939: Hiring of Mr. H. C. Radinger, Graduate Engineer
First as a partner, then after the death of his father he assumed leadership of the company.
1919: Leadership of the company and the majority of shares is taken over by Mr. A. E. Radinger, Graduate Engineer
Besides new technologies for the sugar industry, the company also begins to develop machines and equipment for the glass industry. Many of these innovations which helped boost the company’s prosperity were patented by Putsch®.
1910: First disk slicer installation to Riesenburg, Germany
1885: First attempts at making drum slicing machines
Drum slicing machines were differentiated by horizontal and vertical slicing drums. In order to better divert the beet cossettes from the inside to outside, the vertical drum orientation was favored.
1884: Construction and manufacture of the first beet slicing machine
As a result of the very successful industrial knife production, Putsch® in 1884 designed the first hand- and steam-operated beet slicing machine.
1881: Expansion of the industrial knife factory
The original trade business developed into a factory that designed and manufactured industrial knives for the sugar industry and machines for reconditioning and sharpening of these knives.
1881: Design and manufacture of the first Putsch® centrifugal slicing machine for sugar beets
1880: Design and manufacture of the first Putsch® sharpening machine for beet cutting knives
1871: Establishment of the Company
The Putsch® company was founded on January 1, 1871 by the Kommerzienrat (Councilor of Commerce) Herrmann Putsch. He moved from Remscheid to Hagen and had extensive knowledge of the fabrication of cutting and slicing tools of all types.
