Urologix, LLC
Urologix is a company that was created out of care and concern for men’s health. The founder of Urologix, John Reid, saw a need in the world of urology. John was on a several month long road trip around the country in his RV with his wife. They stopped at campsites all over the country. John and his wife interacted with many people, but John noticed a common topic throughout his trips. He realized that as men age they start to develop a more frequent need to urinate. John learned this to be a common symptom of benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), but what he also learned was that while this affected so many men, there were only two main solutions. A daily medication with side effects or surgery. The light bulb went off for John. He realized that there are so many men out there who are dealing with the bothersome and harmful effects of BPH and they are trapped between two options, neither of which sound very great.

About Us
In 1997 our first version of the Cooled ThermoTherapy device, the Targis, was approved by the FDA as a SAFE, DURABLE, and EFFECTIVE alternative to medication and surgery for men suffering from BPH. John had done it, he found the thing to bridge the gap between daily medication and trips to the hospital for a surgical procedure.
Then in 2013, Urologix added another SAFE, DURABLE, and EFFECTIVE alternative to the mix of treatments offered to men. Prostiva RF Therapy which is another great option for men suffering from BPH.
Urologix today, 30 years later, still proudly put the patients first. We have been serving urologists and patients over the years by offering Cooled ThermoTherapy and Prostiva RF. We help patients find a clinic nearby that offers either one of these treatments.
Approximately 32 million men worldwide experience moderate to severe symptoms of enlarged prostate – medically known as benign prostatic hyperplasia or BPH. 90% of men between 45 and 80 years of age will suffer from some type of lower urinary tract symptoms. By age 60, half of all men have BPH symptoms.
