EOTec - Model 6C11 - Self - Healing Ring Modules Brochure

The 6C11 Self-Healing Ring Module provides a method of establishing fiber media redundancy in a Modicon Remote I/O network. The SHR modules detect and redirect data to the secondary fiber path when a break in the fiber occurs between two adjacent nodes or drops. Automatic resetting occurs when the fiber path has been restored. Visible LED indicators in conjunction with relay contacts provided local and remote monitoring of the integrity of the fiber optic network. The 6C11 module is utilized in the modems at each node of the modem-ring network. These modems consist of a 6A02 Modular Rack containing a Power Supply, a Modicon Remote I/O Electrical Interface, the 6C11, and two Optical Interface Modules. A slide switch selects the unit`s operation at the control `C` or a remote `R` network node.
