One of the central tasks in pediatrics is to recognise growth disorders in children as quickly as possible. Only then can effective therapies be applied to also avoid illnesses which may arise from these disorders. Only precise results lead to a correct diagnosis – in order to ascertain how fast a child grows in cm/year (essential for the dynamic assessment of the growth of a child), millimetre precision is called for.
