VTU Engineering - Company Brochure

We find the path to project success.Experience responsibilityThe core aspect of any successful project is the benefit to the client.02The importance of people. Perfect solutions by a perfect team.A Company and its PhilosophyAccepting and overcoming technological challenges has been the motivating factor for VTU Engineering from the company‘s launch right through to the present day. Established in 1990 by Dr. Michael Koncar as an engineering office for process technology, VTU has evolved in a number of industry sectors to become a provider of comprehensive planning services. The process knowhow which has been gained is now employed to maximum effect in the chemical production, biotechnology, petroleum processing and pharmaceuticals industries. In order to ensure that we are able to be close to our growing number of customers, the company headquarters in Grambach near Graz and Hattersheim am Main were complemented with the establishment of further branch offices in Austria, Germany, Italy, Switzerland and Romania.Benefit through know-howAt VTU we attach great importance to the uniquely high level of training and continuing professional development that our staff undergo so that they can devise optimum solutions for you. About 70% of our employees are process engineers, chemical engineers and biotechnologists. An efficient knowledge management system is employed to refine our knowhow on an ongoing basis. The fact that planning projects demand supreme levels of expertise in terms of engineering and organisation has been taken into account here and this is supported with appropriate training. The core aspect of any successful project is the benefit to the client. This is why in all its planning projects VTU focuses all of its energies on the project targets that have been defined with you. In doing so, we adapt to the framework conditions in the best way possible: our flexibility and ability to work in a team alongside your engineers, with other planning partners or as an overall planner guarantee the best working relationship under a whole range of conditions. A working environment based on partnership ensures that our staff are motivated and enjoy their work and means that our project teams produce aboveaverage results. Our aim is to develop a longterm working partnership with our customers. The sustained growth experienced by VTU shows that this path is the right one for us and for our customers too.03Our aim is to develop a longterm working partnership with our customers. We find the path to project success.01 02Innovation in plant design for all process industry sectors Five criteria are required in all sectors of industry to derive optimum plant engineering.Mastering of the basic process principlesProcess technology divides complex processes up into unit operations, e.g. distillation or filtration. These unit operations are subject to physical laws which are identical across all fields of application and industry sectors. For example, distillation columns are used in the pharmaceuticals industry, the basic chemicals industry and oil refining.Use of the right tools Modern plant design requires the use of a wide range of different tools. These include for example software for process simula tion, databases for administering thousands of plant components, drawing programs, document templates, checklists etc. The most suitable tools should be chosen and employed in line with the magnitude of the projects as complex as necessary, but as efficient as possible.0403 04 05Pharmaceuticals & BiotechnologyChemistry & MetallurgyOil & GasExperience of plant constructionThe sequences and phases of investment projects are basically always the same at any sector. Experience gained from implementing such projects with all conceivable subsidiary stages is a basic prerequisite for the success of a project.Team work The people involved need to work together closely in all areas. Soft skills are required from engineers and project managers in particular. Detailed knowledge of the industrial sector Naturally it is essential to be familiar with design standards, official standards, peculiar features of the media, relevant suppliers etc of the particular industrial sector.05With our highly trained process engineers and our experience in many different industrial sectors, we support you to implement your process plants. There is one other aspect that we never forget: our customers usually have decades of experience of running their production plants. It goes without saying that we seek to incorporate this wealth of knowledge in our engineering. We also bring along the latest software packages (e.g. Aspen Plus, Comos PT, Aspen HYSYS), our own dedicated industry sector experience but also knowledge of other areas of the process industry. All this combines to develop the design for the next generation of plants.Customers in several industries benefit from our know-how in the long term.AlzChem . BASF . Boehringer Ingelheim . Baxter .
