AMB Stuttgart 2014 - International Exhibition for Metal Working
AMB, International Exhibition for Metal Working, is regarded as the leading industry event in even years and ranks among the world`s top 5 exhibitions for this industry. In September 2014 it will be that time again: more than 1,300 exhibitors from almost thirty countries will present the latest developments in machine tools, precision tools and their associated products for metal cutting. AMB will be the industry highlight in 2014.
AMB, International Exhibition for Metal Working, has become established as a top event in even years. It occupies a leading position among the exhibitions in the industry and ranks among the world’s top five events. All the world market and technology leaders come together on a total exhibition area of more than 105,000 square metres to present technologies for future production. Visitors also profit, in particular, from the clear thematic hall assignment. AMB is supported by an attractive accompanying programme featuring interesting special shows. Whether you travel by air, car, rapid-transit railway or train, it is easy to reach the Stuttgart Trade Fair Centre.
Key exhibition areas
- Metal-cutting machine tools
- Metal-removal machine tools
- Precision tools
- Measuring systems and quality assurance
- Robots, workpiece and tool handling
- Industrial software & engineering
- Parts, components and accessories
- Services, organisations, publishing houses
AMB, the international exhibition for metal-working, is considered a leading trade fair and one of the top five trade fairs worldwide in this industry. The increasing number of exhibitors in 2006, 2008, 2010 and 2012 confirms this. All global market and technology leaders are represented here in Stuttgart. Exhibitors from over 30 nations present their new products and services in the area of machines and tools for metal-working.
The excellent infrastructure enables visitors to obtain information on industry trends in one day, including arrival and departure, depending on individual trade fair objectives.
AMB at a glance:
- Over 105,000 square metres of exhibition space
- All global market and technology leaders as exhibitors
- Technologies for the production of tomorrow
- Clear, structured hall division according to product areas
- Attractive framework programme with special shows and congresses
- Optimal accessibility by plane, car, S-Bahn (urban rail) and train
An extensive framework programme is a wonderful complement to the trade fair appearance of the exhibiting companies. Here,AMBis supported by leading associations, research institutes and universities. Manufacturing from a scientific perspective is demonstrated in the special show "Innovation tour of metal-working - trends of tomorrow" from the Institute for Production Management, Technology and Machine Tools (PTW) of the TU Darmstadt. The AMB visitor is thus able to find out everything about the latest future developments of manufacturing technology in a well-structured and concentrated form and can be guided by experts upon request.
Sustainability is another topic experiencing increasing dynamism. The "Blue Competence" initiative by the VDMA will present itself and its activities. In addition to several specialist associations and other organisations in mechanical engineering and construction, leading companies from the industry are also on board. The initiative wants to promote technologies and processes which reduce energy consumption, protect raw materials, generate fewer emissions or improve the living conditions of people.
The partner networkEnterprise Europe Networkis also here again. Organised by the Chamber of Crafts, Stuttgart, the offer, which was initiated by the European Commission, is aimed in particular at small and medium-sized companies, who are looking for production or sales and marketing partners abroad and vice versa. The topic of occupational safety will be a major issue at AMB. In hall 5 the "Berufsgenossenschaft Holz und Metall" (wood and metal trade association) will address the topic of safety.
THINK ING., a joint initiative by the employer association Gesamtmetall, VDMA, ZVEI, VDI, VDE and VDA, is dedicated specifically to young engineers. For years the aim of the initiative has been to provide young people who are facing decisions on the choice of studies and career, as well as teachers and parents, with current, comprehensive and diverse information on engineering courses, the new bachelor and master courses and engineering as a career. In addition, at AMB the VDMA Baden-Württemberg organises tours in small groups – to roughly 15 exhibitor companies –, guided by expert VDMA employees.
Thespecial show for young peoplegives pupils a diverse programme comprising talks, presentations and interviews specifically customised to them.
At AMB the Ministry of the Environment, Climate and Energy Industry in Baden-Württemberg also offers twofree trade fair tours: One tour deals with the environment-friendly handling of cooling lubricants, the other with energy efficiency in metal-working.
Lightweight construction and composites
Lightweight construction is a trend and the areas automotive manufacture, aviation and mechanical engineering are hardly conceivable without composites. The processing of composites such as carbon is extremely demanding and often pushes technology to its performance limits. In order to be able to process materials in line with market conditions, precision, long service lives, use of resources and energy efficiency are promoted. Tool manufacturers and mechanical engineers must confront these challenges and provide efficient solutions as this trend will play an increasingly bigger role in the future. Lightweight construction and composites are therefore the leading topics atAMB 2014. Trade fair visitors can make efficient use of their time when visiting the competent providers as part of the guided trade fair tour: The competence providers are marked to aid orientation. These exhibitors are also listed in a special directory in the trade fair catalogue.
