Hillhead 2016

Hillhead is famous for its live demonstrations, and 2016 will be no different with a wide range of equipment being put through its pace in the quarry.

At the quarry face, equipment from leading suppliers such as Caterpillar, Volvo, JCB, Bell, Doosan, Hyundai, Liebherr, Komatsu, Case and Hitachi will be hard at work. Meanwhile, in the rock processing demonstration area, crushing and screening operations from Powerscreen, Sandvik, Terex Finlay, McCloskey, Baughans, Quarry Manufacturing & Supplies and a range of others will also be working. In addition, the Recycling Demonstration area will again be buzzing with the sounds of crushing, shredding, screening and washing equipment.

Of course it`s not just about the large machinery, and the indoor Pavilions will be a hive of activity where visitors will find an array of ancillary equipment, products and services including: automation and control systems; computer software; health and safety equipment; oils and lubricants; security systems; spare parts; and surveying equipment, amongst many others.

Hillhead is the world’s biggest and best show set in real working quarry environment. The show is organised by QMJ Publishing which ran its first quarry show back in 1926 at Llandrindod Wells in Mid Wales.

These days it is presented every two years when it provides showcase for plant, equipment and services for the quarrying, construction and recycling industries. It is supported by 450 leading international exhibitors and in 2012 attracted around 17,000 visitors from no less than 87 different countries. Outdoor stand space is available on the quarry floor and conventional indoor stands, both ‘space only’ and ‘shell scheme’ are available in two large pavilions. Extensive areas are also set aside for working demonstrations of a wide range of plant and equipment.

Hillhead is the biggest exhibition of its kind in the world, set in the stunning and unique surroundings of a disused limestone quarry, and attracts more than 450 exhibiting companies.

Site Information And Golden Rules

Health and Safety is everyone`s responsibility and it is important that you understand the site safety rules and procedures.

The Construction, Design and Management (CDM) Regulations were extended in 2015 to cover construction activity at UK exhibitions and events. Therefore the Hillhead 2016 build and breakdown will be run in accordance with CDM requirements for the first time. To this end, before gaining access to the site, all exhibitors, contractors and delivery drivers must both read and understand the contents of the Site Information and Golden Rules booklet.
