Over 400,000 surgeries are conducted every year in the US alone to treat hernias, one of the most common soft tissue injuries. However, the current standard of care is a highly in?ammatory process causing visceral adhesions and postsurgical complications.

To address these complications, the team at Baylor College of Medicine recently used our REGENHU bioprinter to design a 3D printed biomesh that minimizes postsurgical complications of hernia repair in an animal model.
