Adam & Eve concludes another generous year of giving

In 2010, a year in which many companies were still struggling financially, Adam & Eve, America's most trusted source for adult products donated to over 80 non-profit organizations during 2010, with donations totaling more than $85,000.

Adam & Eve rounded out the year with a recent fundraiser to benefit the local disaster relief fund of the American Red Cross, as well as the annual drives for Thanksgiving meals, the local Angel Tree program, and some specific needy families in the Orange County area.

Along with corporate contributions, Adam & Eve employees helped too. A large portion of the $85,000 was raised by employees of Adam & Eve at various fundraisers through the year. Also, since the company matches contributions raised or given by employees, their efforts were doubled. Donations were given to non-profit groups spanning from international and national, to locally-based. The largest amounts this year went to the American Heart Association, local hospice centers, breast cancer groups, and a local animal conservator's center. Among many others to benefit were local high schools, community groups, social services, and animal rescues.

In addition to financial contributions, employees continued to donate their time and efforts for many physical causes. Some have become a regular part of Adam & Eve's community services like Meals on Wheels, Adopt a Highway, blood drives, and condom donations to health service centers. Focus is also put on current events, and what employees can do to help. In 2010, there was a shoe drive with the program Soles for Souls to benefit the survivors of the devastating Haitian earthquake. Also periodically, employees held drives for food and pet supplies for local pantries and rescues.

'Working for a company that cares about the community around them like Adam & Eve really gives me a personal motivation to come to work every day,' says longtime employee of the 40-year strong company, Rachel Vigneaux. 'Most companies are only concerned with money, money, money but Adam & Eve is different. They firmly believe in giving back.'

Adam & Eve is looking forward to continuing the tradition of giving in 2011, the year it is also celebrating its 40th anniversary. They have had 40 years of sex positive practices and giving back to their community. That will continue for years to come.
