Imtech: 130 million euro orders for innovation in the German care & cure market
Gouda - Imtech N.V. (technical services provider in Europe) announces that it has been awarded orders worth over 130 million euro in the care & cure sector in Germany. Innovation is the key word here. Imtech is involved in various innovations relating to ventilation, energy efficiency, ultra clean air in operating theatres and the use of medical gases.
René van der Bruggen, CEO Imtech: 'Technology in the care & cure market is becoming increasingly important. As demand for health care rises, integration of technological solutions and innovation are making better care possible. At the same time, integration and innovation contribute to lower operating costs, a considerable increase in energy efficiency and a reduction in harmful emissions. Specific technology makes it easier to comply with new norms for hygiene, safety and (patient) welfare. The German care & cure market is an important growth market for Imtech.'
Technological innovation in care & cure
In Germany, Imtech is increasingly active for a large number of hospitals, health centres, medical clinics and research institutes. The focus is on growth. The care & cure market increasingly requires specific technology which complies with new norms for hygiene, safety and (patient) welfare in combination with high energy efficiency. More and more, Imtech acts as an expert technology partner. Besides providing complete technical infrastructure solutions (through the combination of electrical services, ICT - information and communications technology - and mechanical services), Imtech focuses strongly on technological innovation. Imtech innovations increasingly find their way to the market. An important innovation is the use of a new type of ventilation system in hospital wards. In contrast to conventional approaches, new Imtech technology is used to create the best combination of functionality for the patients, welfare for doctors and nurses and high energy efficiency with minimizing CO2 for the environment. An innovative concept has also been developed for ultra clean air in operating theatres, which prevents post-operative infectious complications. Other examples are complex technology solutions for the use of medical gases (oxygen, nitrogen, laughing gas, etc.), innovative (emergency) paging systems for patients and medical personnel, energy efficient power supplies and smart emergency power facilities.
High volume of recent orders
Imtech has recently been involved in several innovative technical processes and projects in numerous medical clinics, (university) hospitals and health centres in for instance the Rems Murr clinic in Winnenden, the Schwarzwald Baar clinic in Villingen-Schwenningen, the academic hospital of the University of Tübingen, the academic hospital of the University of Ulm, the St. Josefs hospital in Freiburg and Heidelberg, the clinic of Stuttgart Mitte (Stuttgart Center) and several other smaller hospitals and (health) clinics. For the Max-Planck-Institute für Eisenforschung (MPIE) in Düsseldorf, a leading institute in medical research, Imtech is equipping a high quality research centre to improve the health of the elderly. Further growth in the German care & cure market is expected.
