Pneumococcal Disease & Streptococcus pneumoniae Discussed in New Video
Today, the IAQ Video Network and Cochrane & Associates announced the release of their latest educational video. Their newest production discusses Streptococcus pneumoniae and pneumococcal disease.
“Streptococcus pneumoniae bacteria, sometimes referred to as pneumococcus, is one of the most common causes of severe pneumonia,” said Paul Cochrane, President of Cochrane and Associates, the company behind the IAQ Video Network. “Pneumococcus can cause other types of infections, including ear and sinus infections, meningitis, and bacteremia. The bacteria are spread from person-to-person by direct contact with respiratory secretions, like saliva or mucus. We hope this new video helps to shed some light on pneumococcal disease and those most at risk of this type of infection.”
