The company received FDA clearance to market its resting QRS-Card™ ECG product in November 1991, Stress ECG in July 1998, Holter ECG in January 2003 and Bluetooth Wireless ECG in July 2010.

During the initial years PBI invested in research and development while establishing a corporate presence in the ECG marketplace through exhibiting at the American Heart and the American Cardiology conferences. The initial product consisted of a separate `card` that was inserted into the PC with DOS based software running in the PC. Through R&D, the product (QRS-Card™) has evolved to an external hardware module about the size of a small cellular phone with communication to the PC via the serial port, USB port or Bluetooth wireless connection.

PBI owns all proprietary hardware design and has complete ownership to the source code for its software including its own automatic ECG measurement algorithms, automatic ECG interpretation algorithms, high-resolution signal averaging ECG software and 24 hours holter ECG algorithm.

PBI sells its products through independent dealers on a worldwide basis. In addition to the U.S. FDA clearance, the QRS-Card™ product is approved in Canada. Japan, China, and has the current European CE mark. The company has sold its products on an OEM basis to a number of companies including Oxford Instruments, Ergoline, Guident and Cardinal Health.
