In Vitro:Glycolithocholic acid 3-sulfate (100 μg/mL) protects MT-4 cells against HIV-1-induced cytopathogenicity[1]. Glycolithocholic acid 3-sulfate (200 μg/mL) shows no toxicity for host cells[1]. Glycolithocholic acid 3-sulfate inhibits HIV-1 antigen expression in HIV-1-infected CEM cells[1].

In Vivo:Glycolithocholic acid 3-sulfate (24 μmoL /100 g; i.v., once) induces intrahepatic cholestasis and increases biliary cholesterol secretion in male Wistar rats with bile fistula[2].
