In Vitro:Rose Bengal (300 µM, 48 h) exerts toxic effects on MCF-7 cells by inducing apoptosis[3]. Rose Bengal (5 µM, under light irradiation, 24 h) inhibits Aβ aggregation, likely by binding to Ab42 and preventing its conformational transition[4].

In Vivo:Rose Bengal sodium (50 µL PV-10 (10% Rose Bengal solution), IL, once a week for 14 weeks) induced tumor-specific immune responses and reduced the number of lung metastases in the B16 melanoma mouse model[5]. Rose Bengal (7-200 µg, i.p., single dose) inhibits FLV infection via photodynamic action[6].
