Immunogen: This antibody was raised against human IgG.
Specificity: This antibody binds to all four human IgG subtypes (IgG1, IgG2, IgG3 & IgG4). Some cross-reactivity with rabbit IgG, cynomolgus monkey IgG1 and rhesus macaque IgG1 has also been reported.
Application Notes: A Fab and an scFv fragment derived from this antibody, conjugated with bacterial alkaline phosphatase, have been used in sensitive enzyme immunoassays for the detection of human IgG (Carrier et al, 1995). Further, the antibody reacted with human IgG1, cynomolgus monkey IgG1 and rhesus macaque IgG1 by ELISA analysis, but it did not show any cross reactivity with cynomolgus monkey IgG4.
Antibody first published in: Carrier et al. Recombinant antibody-alkaline phosphatase conjugates for diagnosis of human IgGs: application to anti-HBsAg detection Journal of Immunological Methods, 1995, Vol.181(2), pp.177-186 PMID:7745247
Note on publication: Describes the derivation of an scFv and Fab from this antibody, and their use in a sandwich ELISA.
