Advanced diagnostic testing for patients with suspected acute or chronic prostatitis. Prostatitis is a common urologic diagnosis in men. PCR is more sensitive than traditional culture for the detection of uropathogens.1 Guidance® Prostatitis combines the sensitivity of PCR for organism identification and antibiotic resistance gene detection with a unique technology called Pooled Antibiotics Susceptibility Testing (P-AST™). P-AST™ accounts for interactions in polymicrobial infections that may alter antibiotic resistance. Guidance® Prostatitis is for your patients who you suspect may have acute or chronic prostatitis.
Guidance® Prostatitis uses molecular technology to identify fastidious bacteria and yeasts that are difficult to detect by culture. Post massage urine results available in less than one day† and semen results available within 48 hours.
Guidance® Prostatitis utilizes Pooled Antibiotic Susceptibility Testing (P-AST™), which accounts for bacterial interactions that occur in polymicrobial infections that may alter antibiotic resistance. Additionally, the report includes detection of antibiotic resistance genes.
