Microcon - Model CD-HUV - Center for Disease Control

SHARE

The Center for Disease Control (CDC) recognizes and recommends both germicidal UV irradiation and HEPA filtration as a means to provide air purification in healthcare environments. The MICROCON CD-HUV (MCDHUV) is a combination of the two, with the addition of two activated carbon cells for gas phase pollutants and can be used in any number of office requirements.

The MICROCON CD is also available with both HEPA filtration and germicidal UV irradiation to eliminate various airborne pathogens. The MICROCON CD-HUV (MCDHUV) is independent of the ventilation system, thereby constantly recirculating highly filtered pollutant-free air throughout the room.

HEPA filters have a minimum efficiency level of 99.97% on particles >0.3 ppm in diameter and have been shown effective in reducing Aspergillus spores (1.5 ppm to 6 ppm) to below measurable levels. UV has shown to be effective in reducing and eliminating microorganisms, bacteria, fungi, mold related to allergies, cold and flu viruses and most airborne transmitted disease. Carbon is the recommended component for reducing and eliminating bio-aerosols, VOC`s and other gas phase pollutants.
