Ott Scientific is a family-owned and operated group of specialty chemical manufacturing companies with expertise in monomers, polymers, microspheres, and reagents for the pharmaceutical, medical device, and diagnostic industries.

Ethos Biosciences was formed in 2018 as a subsidiary of Ott Scientific focused on the design, development, and manufacture of high-quality, easy-to-use assay kits, reagents, and services. In November of 2018, we acquired the Exocell diagnostics operation from Glycadia, Inc., as a first step in assembling a world-class product catalog. With the Exocell acquisition, we not only incorporated the widely-cited products, many of which are considered the gold-standard assay in their respective areas, we’ve kept the entire operation. This means that current Exocell customers will continue to receive the same industry-leading products, services, and support that they’ve depended on since the company’s founding in 1988 by Margo Cohen, MD. Ph.D.

On July 12th, 2021, Ott Scientific combined four legacy organizations into one business called Ethos Biosciences to better serve diagnostic customers seeking accurate, repeatable and easy-to-use products. The four legacy organizations operate as product lines and service brands: American Bionostica for lateral flow products, Astral Diagnostics for histology and hematology stains and reagents, Astral Rx for pharmaceutical formulations, and Exocell for research and clinical nephrology assays. Combining our operations and areas of expertise has allowed us to seamlessly deliver contract development and manufacturing services to customers as well.

We operate between two sites in Newtown Square, PA, and Logan Township, NJ. The majority of development activities occur in our 12,000-square-foot R&D lab in Newtown Square, while manufacturing occurs in Logan Township. Our brand new state-of-the-art 127,000-square-foot Logan Township facility is expected to receive ISO13485 certification in the spring of 2022.
