FDI FRONT-LINE™ -Model FL135 -Field Sterilizer for Austere Environments
The FRONT-LINE™ Field Sterilizer, designed by Fort Defiance Industries LLC, offers advanced steam sterilization technology bringing surgical capabilities directly to austere environments, close to the point of injury. Equipped with FDA clearance, this portable and rugged device is engineered to withstand extreme conditions, including heat, cold, and high altitude. Meeting global sterilization standards such as AAMI ST55 and EN 13060, it has been rigorously tested to MIL-STD-810 for military use, ensuring high reliability. The sterilizer features a dual tray system for large instrument sets and numerous dental pouches, making it efficient for medical warfighters. With a water requirement of less than 4 oz per cycle, it can operate on both 120 and 230-240 VAC using only 15 amps, enabling widespread usability. The design facilitates straightforward operation and maintenance by locating all necessary components and guidance within reach at the front panel.

FDI’s engineers designed and tested this sterilizer to meet the global sterilization standards of AAMI ST55 and EN 13060. In addition, we designed and tested to MIL-STD-810, because the medical devices used by our U.S. military must travel through and perform in some of the most extreme conditions in the world…including heat, cold and high altitude. We perform this rigorous environmental testing to ensure reliability when it counts.
The FRONT-LINE™ Field Sterilizer has many features that make it the ideal choice for far-forward operations. For example, it uses less than 4 oz. of water per cycle and operates off of any 120 or 230-240 VAC using only 15 amps. It has other features that help make life easier for the medical warfighter such as:
