Genemed - Model SA-20001-2-1 - Bovine (Non-Immune) Serum IgM, Purified
From Secondary Antibodies & Elisa Kits - Isotype Control (Ig`s)
A healthy non-immunized population of Bovine was used to collect serum. This product was prepared from normal serum by a multi-step process which includes delipidation, selective precipitation and tandem molecular sieve chromatography followed by extensive dialysis against the buffer stated above. Assay by immunoelectrophoresis resulted in a single precipitin arc against anti-Bovine Serum and anti-Bovine IgM (µ chain specific). No reaction was observed against anti-Bovine IgG F(c). Some light chain cross reactivity will occur with anti-Bovine IgG).

Form and Storage
The normal Bovine IgM is provided as liquid (0.05 M Tris-HCl, 0.15 M NaCl, 0.01 M glycine, pH 7.4, containing 15 mM sodium azide.) or in lyophilized in the same buffer. The product should be stored at 4oC for short term and –20oC for long-term storage. It is stable for a minimum of 1 year. Do not store diluted solutions.
The lyophilized products should be dissolved in water to prepare desired concentration by gentle rocking or vortexing at room temperature. Centrifuge the solution briefly (10,000 g, 15 min) to remove any particulate matter. It should be aliquoted and stored frozen for long-term use.
Suggested Uses
This preparation of normal Bovine IgM is suitable for coating the ELISA plates or as a non-immune control for ELISA, dot blot, Western or IHC. Recommended testing concn. is approx. 1-10 ug/ml. It is, however, possible that this preparation may be unsuitable for some antigens or cell/tissue extracts and may give slightly higher background. Switching to another preparation from different mouse or vendor may alleviate this problem.
