OLpur -Model MD220 -Hemodia Filter

SHARE

The OLpur MD220 Hemodiafilter (HDF Filter) is very similar to a typical hollow fiber dialyzer assembled with a single hollow fiber bundle made with a high-flux (or high-permeability) membrane. The fiber bundle is separated into two discrete, but serially connected blood paths. Dialysate flows in one direction that is counter-current to blood flow in Stage 1 and co-current to blood flow of Stage 2.

The H2H Module is a programmable electro-mechanical medical device designed to work in conjunction with and in close proximity to a hemodialysis machine during patient treatments. It is a free-standing device on a movable stand. Upon installation, the H2H Module is placed next to the hemodialysis machine (which can be on either side depending upon type and model of the hemodialysis machine) and is connected to the clinic’s water supply, drain, and electricity.

The H2H Module serves two basic functions. The Module’s primary function is to generate on-line substitution fluid for hemodiafiltration. The H2H Module does this by redundantly ultrafiltering dialysate, provided by the dialysis machine, through the reusable H2H Substitution filter. The secondary function of the H2H Module is to serve as an H2H Substitution Filter reprocessing machine. Filter reprocessing and heat disinfection steps can be performed only when the H2H Module is not connected to the hemodialysis machine.

A benefit to the clinical staff is that they will continue to use the host dialysis machine as normal. All operations required to perform on-line HDF and maintain the H2H Module are automated. The user only needs to follow the instructions in the H2H User Manual and those displayed on the H2H Module’s screen to perform online HDF with the host dialysis machine.
