Model Hemotese - High Capacity Hemostatic Pad
Absorbable hemostat for haemostatic procedure during surgery with than 800 000 products manufactured per year and CE approval since 2003. Hemostatic pad made from non-denatured, freeze-dried, resorbable native collagen type I, extracted from calf hides. Our absorbable hemostat , preserves its integrity in a damp atmosphere, allowing our hemostatic pad to be handled easily during application. HEMOTESE® is a high capacity hemostatic pad , as the manufacturing process keeps the helicoidal structure of the collagen intact. In its native form, collagen has a specific effect on haemostasis. When bovine collagen type I comes into contact with platelets, it causes them to cluster and form clots of fibrin. In vitro tests were conducted on the blood of 3 donors to evaluate the performance of HEMOTESE® compress compared to a reference product made of oxidized regenerated cellulose.
Animal studies have shown that HEMOTESE® hemostatic sponge resorbs in less than 8 weeks.
HEMOTESE® has good resistance on the haemorrhage site. It is flexible and easily handled.
- HEMOTESE® our hemostatic sponge must be used in sterile operating conditions after adequate preparation of the site to be treated.
- HEMOTESE® is applied dry directly on the surface to be treated, pressing gently. The duration of application varies depending on the haemorrhage to be treated; in general, 2 to 6 minutes is sufficient.
- HEMOTESE® may be cut to size for improved application.
- HEMOTESE® being an absorbable hemostat may be left in situ after achieving haemostasis. It is nevertheless recommended that excess compress be removed.
- HEMOTESE® remains intact in the presence of blood and does not disintegrate once damp.
Single-use product, discard any unused and remaining product in compliance with current regulations for biological hazards.
Do not use the hemostatic pad if the double wrapping is damaged.
