IdeaHGI - Human Gastro-Intestinal Simulator

Three configurations are available:

• DUO - 2 (gastric chamber + small intestine or gastro-intestinal digestion + colon fermentation)
• TRIO - 3 compartments (gastric chamber + duodenal chamber + jejunal chamber);
• COMPLEX - 5 compartments (gastric chamber + small intestine + 3 regions of the large intestine (ascending, transverse and descending colon)).

IdeaHGI can be used for studying physicochemical, enzymatic and microbial parameters in the gastrointestinal tract (e.g. bioaccessibility of micro- & macronutrients, digestibility, lipid oxidation, survival of probiotics) and as a multi-compartmental dissolution apparatus to measure the dissolution rate of pharmaceutical solid dosage forms;
