The CXF/AXF system uses a precision engineered tubular membrane. The shear required for droplet formation is generated from the flow of the continuous phase through the device.
- The AXF-1 is the aseptic version of the CXF-1, specifically designed for applications where high levels of hygiene are important. The AXF system features an electropolished stainless steel body with ergonomic tri-clamp connections, allowing for easy sterilisation.
- With no moving parts, Micropore’s XF systems are elegant and robust devices for continuously manufacturing high quality emulsions.
- The precision engineered membrane allows for the manufacture of near mono-dispersed droplets.
All Micropore equipment uses precision engineered stainless steel membranes. These membranes provide:
- Tightly controlled pore size
- No tortuous paths
- Easy to clean
- Robust
- Pore sizes ranging from 3 - 350µm
Micropore’s CXF/AXF-1 can be can be configured to meet precise operating requirements, as a scale up device using data from LDC-1 and LTS-1 trials to pilot manufacture volumes, or as a pilot device itself for high throughput manufacturing.

- Continuous production process
- Multi-tonne/ year capability
- Small footprint
- cGMP / FDA ready production.
- Production scale crossflow unit available in aseptic cGMP format for either manufacturing volumes or use as a development tool
- Suitable for producing mono-sized droplet sizes between 10 and 1000 microns
- Capable of continuous production up from1-200kg/hr
- Utilises stainless steel tubular membranes suitable for either oil-in-water or water-in oil dispersions.
- Easy to set up and maintain with no moving parts
- Low energy - with resulting preservation of sensitive materials
