Our company started in 1984 under the name Aabaco Industries, when co-founder Steve Matheo set up shop in his daughter’s bedroom in their Sunrise, FL home. Steve along with his friend Joel Lubin were passionate about educating their customers about safety and providing products other companies wouldn’t carry, like gloves and goggles. Within the first three months, the duo had a viable business with these products alone. Sales skyrocketed quickly and the two young entrepreneurs moved the business to a small office in Margate, FL, then to larger facilities 3 times in the first three years. While most businesses struggle to turn an early profit, our company made waves.

Environmental ProtectorsAs the years went by, Steve and Joel saw spill remediation as an untapped means of protecting the environment. Their goal was to find sustainable, environmentally-conscious products and share their discoveries with the world. They were featured in the news for providing the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation a treated sugarcane byproduct called Bagasse, to clean a hydraulic oil spill. They began promoting oil-eating microbes, the most efficient spill cleaners which also compost naturally and create new soil, decades before they were commonplace.

An Eye On A Cleaner FutureNow in retirement, the co-founders have given way to a new generation of conscientious ownership. They’ve sought and found a like-minded owner in Kim Hannon, a female entrepreneur that shared their values of environmental preservation and education. Seeking ever more sustainable solutions, Kim keeps her sights on a cleaner future for her kids, community, and planet.

Our company doesn’t exist merely to clean up the messes of heavy industry, but to leave a cleaner world than those messes found. We believe the earth is so resourceful, it provides natural cleaning solutions for even the most man-made and synthetic calamities. The spill remediation industry is a means of protecting the environment, as well as protecting industrial companies’ bottom line. We live to educate clients and public alike on safety and prevention, and having the right line of defense when disaster does strike. Our clients in the chemical and industrial space can have a harmful effect on the environment, whether knowingly or not. As their partners, we are uniquely positioned to minimize their damage. We do so by educating them ahead of time, counseling them during mishaps and providing them with the proper products necessary to reverse the damage. By remaining committed to this dual mission of education and environmental protection, we not only keep our identity in a large and complex economy, but walk home a little more fulfilled at each day’s end.
