ABX464 is an oral, first-in-class, small molecule that has demonstrated safety and profound anti-inflammatory activity in the completed Phase 2a and Phase 2b induction studies as well as in ongoing long-term maintenance studies in patients with moderate-to-severe ulcerative colitis (UC).Due to the clinical similarities of Crohn’s disease (CD) and UC, and the predictability of the DSS model for both UC and CD, several key opinion leaders (KOLs) are confident that ABX464 will also show beneficial effects in patients suffering from CD.

Next steps
Based on the good safety profile and promising efficacy results obtained for ABX464 in UC, Abivax has been encouraged by KOLs to initiate a pivotal Phase 2b trial for the treatment of CD. Abivax is currently planning for a start of the enrollment of patients in 2021.
