Precision Microbiome Profiling (PMP)
PMP™ is a qPCR-based approach on Thermo Fisher Scientific’s OpenArray platform. This allows PMP to deliver accurate and detailed information about the microbiome in a high-throughput format, which is readily available for interpretation, and in a faster timeframe than traditional microbiome analysis approaches.
Unique Microbiome Biobank Access
Through our special collaboration with HUNT4, a large-scale and population-based observational cohort, we have access to fecal samples from 13300 individuals, as well as to their anonymized medical registries with more than 6000 different health parameters. This enables microbiome discovery of novel biomarkers and drug targets.
Target Selection and Assay Development Process
Gut bacterial and fungal (sub)species to be targeted by PMP™ are chosen after extensive database and literature research, according to the area of interest. Once the targets have been selected, we follow an in-house bioinformatics pipeline to design and validate specific qPCR assays targeting the desired bacterial or fungal taxa.
