The catheter is well suited for emergency and trauma hemorrhage control; including occlusion of the SVC.
The QXMédical Occlusion Balloon Catheter is a low profile balloon catheter designed for large vessel occlusion. The catheter is compatible with 8Fr introducer sheaths and has a robust durable balloon with a diameter range of 10mm to 32mm. The catheter shaft is uniquely designed to offer maximum stability during inflation thus minimizing possible migration. The catheter is 90cm long allowing a wide range of access options. The large lumen design of the shaft ensures rapid balloon inflation and deflation resulting in excellent operator control.
The Occlusion Balloon Catheter is uniquely designed for occlusion of the SVC. A tear of the SVC may occur during a lead extraction procedure. In the event of a tear, the Occlusion Balloon Catheter is inflated to control blood loss allowing the patient to be converted to surgical repair.
