Safe’n’Sound® 1ml is a highly customizable platform of add-on passive safety devices for prefilled syringes. It helps in preventing needlestick injuries, providing user-friendly protection for healthcare professionals and patients or caregivers. Ergonomically designed, Safe’n’Sound® is intended for naïve users including patients with dexterity issues, experienced users, and healthcare professionals alike. It features a large thumb-pad for ease of use, and it provides a clear tip visibility for easy drug inspection. Its rounded shape allows an increased labeling surface.
- For prefilled ISO standard glass syringes and PLAJEX plastic syringes
- Fits 1 ml long and 2.25 ml long staked syringes with a maximum needle length of ½ inch
- Commercially available in 1 and 2.25 ml sizes
- Possible color and material customizations for plunger rod and optional extended finger flanges

The safety system is passively activated with one hand and is suitable for low fill-volumes and higher viscosity formulations. It is robust against shocks and vibrations and compatible with all scales of manual to fully automated assembly line.
It is also compatible with both prefilled ISO standard glass syringes and PLAJEX plastic syringes, fitting 1 mL long staked syringes with a maximum needle length of half an inch (12.7 mm).
