Model ALFA - Rapid Test

ALFA (Allergy Lateral Flow Assay) is a rapid test for the determination of allergen-specific IgE (sIgE) in human serum, plasma or whole blood. The frequency of allergies has increased sharply worldwide in the last few decades. Allergies are defined as pathological immune reactions of type I (immediate type reaction), the symptoms of which generally occur within 30-60 minutes. With a few exceptions, the triggering allergens of the type I reaction belong to the group of proteins and mostly originate from our natural environment such as plant pollen, animal hair, food, mites and insecticides. A characteristic feature of a type I allergy is the involvement of allergen-specific immunoglobulins (antibodies) of class E (sIgE).
