Where do our raw materials come from?
Not only do we produce our skeleton models and our anatomical charts ourselves in Germany, we also only use plastics and other supplier products (e.g. the entire skeleton hardware) from German production. Accordingly, our products naturally meet all safety and raw material standards applicable in the EU. Problems such as odors or even potentially toxic ingredients, as these have already become known in the past in the toy sector (originating from China), are not an issue for us.

How do we craft?
Rüdiger anatomy is a small company. We make our own anatomical skeleton models, skulls and spines. A high degree of craftsmanship is used here. All bone parts are polished by hand and then assembled by hand. The entire painting is of course done by hand. For example, on each skeleton you will find a sign of the employee who assembled it and - if it is a painted skeleton model - also a personal sign of the person who painted it. What does the complex manufacturing process mean for you?
Put simply: Manufactory production results in quality. Industrial mass production, on the other hand, aims to produce an item at the lowest price. The aim is to “eject” as many parts as possible in the shortest possible time. Naturally, some work steps have to be shortened, others completely omitted, which are a matter of course in the manufacture.

A skeleton is a skeleton - isn`t it?
How can there be differences in quality? Believe me: it can! Apart from the processing or the quality of the supplier products used, this can best be explained using so-called “downtimes” in production. Skeleton models are made of plastic using injection molding machines. Hot melted plastic is injected into steel molds under high pressure. The “standing time” (also cooling time) is the time that a plastic part to be manufactured (eg a bone) cools down in a steel mold before it is removed (ie the time in which the mold stands still). The steel mold sort of presses all the little indentations and undercuts into the plastic part. The longer a plastic part cools in the mold, the more accurate the reproduction of all anatomical details of the original. A long service life is “good”, a short service life is “bad” because the anatomical details of these molded parts blur again (the plastic is still hot and quite viscous). It is understandable that in the context of mass production, a manufacturer strives to keep the downtime as short as possible (it ultimately means that no further part can be manufactured during this time - mold and machine are occupied).
